About the Order
The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St. John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta, of England and Wales and its Provinces Overseas has existed in England since at least 1778 and has been organised uder a sovereign body since 1791.
The ceremony of Installation of a Knight is very realistic and the spectacular regalia is based upon that worn by the Medieval Knights Templar.
The Order is made up of Preceptories which are under the direction of the Great Priory which is presided over by the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master Paul R Clement GCT.

Waller Rodwell Wright Preceptory
The Waller Rodwell Wright Preceptory and Priory No 640 was consecrated on the 16th May 2003 at Mark Masons Hall, London with an impressive 36 Founder Members. The Ceremony and subsequent Festive Board was attended by 120 Knights. The Preceptory meets at the Masonic Hall in Valletta, Malta on the 1st Saturday in May and the 1st Saturday in October, the day after our "sister" Preceptory, La Valette No 649.
The Installation of the new Eminent Preceptor takes place at the October meeting while new Knights of the Order are usually Installed at the May meeting. This is the converse of the schedule for La Valette Preceptory and thus there is usually the opportunity for knights to experience both ceremonies, Installation of an EP and Installation of a Knight during Malta Masonic Week.
Every few years the Knights meet as a Priory of Knights of Malta to enable newer knights to be Installled in this additional, but closely related, Order. It is particularly appropriate that the ceremony takes place on the Island of Malta itself.
The Crest of the Preceptory has four quarters depicting the Templar Cross, the Malta Cross, a gallley of the Order of St John under full sail in Marsamxett Harbour and a Templar lozenge bearing the mottos "Be Just and Fear Not" and "Hic Fructus Virtutis".
The membership has grown from strength to strength, attracting members from France, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Malta and the UK.
The restoration of the Waller Rodwell Wright headstone in the Msida Bastion Historic Gardens, Valletta (The Garden of Rest) was funded by the members of the Waller Rodwell Wright Preceptory and is well worth a visit. We also give donations to worthy causes, including The Eye Hospital in Jerusalem.
